Boycott Israel

Damn, i actually thought i was gonna be the 1st one to post this, but yo much props and respect to the boycottisrael.

i would REALLY hope that the admins who run this site do actually have some connection to snoop, and will therefore forward these messages onto him for us.

ofcourse, if per chance this site is ran by interscope reps, please, please PLEASE think with your hearts for a change and NOT iwth yoru wallets. if i can ask for one pise of sympathy in your entire life, then please consider the fallen children of palestine.

i think i will start with this

http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article9657.shtml

The following is an open letter sent to US rap musician Snoop Dogg on 29 June 2008 by the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel:

Dear Snoop Dogg,

The Palestinian arts community was deeply saddened and surprised by the news of your upcoming performance in Israel on 18 September in Ramat Gan. We strongly urge you to cancel your plans to perform in Israel until the time comes when Israel ends its illegal occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories and respects the relevant precepts of international law concerning Palestinian rights to freedom, self-determination and equality.

How can an artist whose name is prominently associated with this form of popular and freedom-based musical expression, rap, be apathetic to the monstrosity of Israel's current war crimes in Gaza, its Apartheid Wall, declared illegal by the International Court of Justice at the Hague, or its continued violation of fundamental Palestinian rights? Just as conscientious artists the world over boycotted South African apartheid in the past we expect and urge them to boycott Israel's own system of colonization and racial discrimination, compared to apartheid by former US President Jimmy Carter, as well as many leading figures in South Africa, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu and current minister, Ronnie Kasrils.

"Make it Good" and do not come to Israel. "Make it Good" and dedicate your cancellation to all the mothers who lost their children; 24 Palestinian children were killed in April 2008 alone by the Israeli occupation army; 34 were killed in the Gaza Strip in March in what the Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Matan Villnai threatened to become a "bigger Holocaust." And 327 Palestinian children are still in prison. So far, more than 180 terminally ill people and premature babies have died within four months in Gaza as a result of the heinous, medieval siege imposed by the country you are planning to visit.

It is also worth reminding you that Palestinian rappers and musicians in the occupied Palestinian territory, like all Palestinians under Israeli occupation, are denied their basic rights, including the "privilege" of freedom of expression which you -- and all of us -- so highly value. They are often denied their right to travel, sometimes even within the Occupied Palestinian Territory; many are denied access to festivals; and some are imprisoned, injured or killed by the occupation forces. Try to find out, for instance, how many Palestinian rappers, particularly those in besieged Gaza, will be allowed to attend your concert? By performing in Ramat Gan you are helping to perpetuate this special form of apartheid that denies us our rights.

Palestinian civil society has almost unanimously called upon international civil society to engage in acts and campaigns of boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel until it fully complies with international law and recognizes the fundamental human rights of the people of Palestine. The Church of England, the US Presbyterian Church, a group of top British architects, major unions in Britain, South Africa, Ireland and Canada, among many other groups and institutions in the West, have all heeded the Palestinian distress call and considered applying effective pressure on Israel to promote peace and justice in our troubled land.

We sincerely hope that you shall cancel your announced performance in Israel.

Boycott Israel

Dear snoop,

although i may not bump you everyday, i am still 1st to defend doggystyle as one of THE greatest CDs ever made, and i will always defend your style when other cats have calimed that you have 'fallen off'. That is why it brings me great sadness to hear that you will be performing in Tel Aviv this september, as i would hope you are aware of the situation that is currently going on in the middle East.

As the thread starter has already made clear, the opinion that Israel is in the wrong in its one that is shared by many across the world INCLUDING Israelis themselves, why just check out BT'salem a huma rights organization run from Jeruselam. THe situation in Paletsine right now has gone beyond dire and the people of Paletsine are in some urgent need for help from everyone especially you.

Gaza is of late been made into the worlds biggest open air prison, in which to enter and leave one must pass through a minium of 3 heavily armed checkpoints. provisions such as food, water and basica humanitarian aid is restricted by the IDF from entering. while the Israelis use up amples amounts of water for bathing and washing cars, the children of Palestine are forced to drink from rationed supplies. Food shortaged are so scarce that many children are forced to go to school, if they even GO, with out any breakfast and have resorted to but a single meal a day.Power and Gas has also become restricted by the IDF to the point where local industries have been shut down, cars are now run on vegetable oil and many families are stuck with out any power at night.

aside from all this, you must also consider the indiscriminate KILLINGS done by israel on Palestinians on but a weekly basis. Last year alone, according to BT'salem, 92 children where killed by Israelis, of which NONE have had any justice done against the soldiers who commited these crimes. yes that right snoop SOLDIERS, the ISRAELI DEFENCE FORCE. here is but ONE example

http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article8978.shtml

Sarah, Yehya and Mahmoud where killed before they even had  a chance to live, wher is the justice.

i could go on for hours and hours about the crimes of Israel, which is why i BEG of you, please show the world who you are. Think about your children man, and consider just how little these kids have to go for them. please cancel you show and TELL these poeple WHY you are canceling, be a man, be big snoop dogg.

no doubt, interscope would hate any idea of a rapper showing his will by fighting for a good cause, but yo str8 up FUCK THEM. you do what YOU wnat to do man, dont let these scumbags who dont know shit about hiphop make your choice.

PEACE

Real hiphop works AGAINST oppression

Y'all some stupid ass muthafuckas if you cant see how the discrimination of a group by a more powerfull oppressors is not related to hiphop, i mean seriously WHAT THE FUCK.

how about you dumb fucks put down your lil wayne CDs and go listen to some original rap like grandmaster flash or Afrika Bambaataa, shit yo, WHY DO YOU THINK THEY WERE THE FURIOUS FIVE? what you think they were angry about the weather, or perhaps it was becuase their wallets weren't big enough for their money?

indeed, this struggle has been going on for much longer than snoop has had a carreer, however, by performing in Israel he only helps to perpetuate the false perception that Israel is not a terrorist state who seeks to destroy another group of people.

ask yourselves one thing, what is hiphop about?

then tell me that snoop should support Israel, and still cliam to be hiphop.

Playing for/in a racist state like Israel is never just about music

It's beyond naive to say that playing in the last of the colonial settler states isn't political.  When a black performer plays in Israel the zionist leadership loves it.  How can we be racist? they say.  We have Snoop Dog here.  Yes, but you don't have most of the non-Jewish natives "here" do you?  Snoop Dogg performing his music in Israel will be used by Israel to pass itself off as something other than a racist state based on colonial settlement, ethnic cleansing and segregationist laws.

The struggle for Palestine hasn't been going on that long.  It began in the 1890s when a group of Jews set up the World Zionist Organisation in Switzerland with a view to establishing a state in Palestine for the world's Jews at the expense of Palestine's Arabs.  In 1917 the British empire declared its support for zionism.  In 1919 the British government announced that all the main powers in the world were up for the zionist project.  This is a "modern" colonial/anti-colonial struggle in post-modern times.

If Snoop Dogg performs in Israel he will be honouring a racist state.  Perhaps readers remember the Cotton Club.  White owned in Harlem.  Black performers could entertain white customers but black people couldn't be customers for a long time.  This is Israel down to a T.

Snoop Dogg should consider the long suffering Palestinians and boycott Israel.

please come to Israel

The Israeli / Palestinian conflict is a two way conflict.
And as much as there are many things I do not agree with in Israeli policy, calling it a colonial is ignorance.
The Jewish people did not come and conquer Israel as a strong force and countries like the British, French, or American did and do today (Iraq ect.).
The Jewish people came too, from oppression and holocaust. And I will agree, that we did not learn enough about the way we should treat others, still the difrence remains.

The occupied territories of '67 must be returned to the Palestinian people, I agree. And the people in the rest of the country must learn and be educated towards equality and even just simple common courtesy. But…. Teaching a child that the terrorist that blow up your neighbor does not represent the Palestinian that you have to sit and talk to isn't as easy as it sounds.

Preventing the young people from attending concerts by people who believe in equality, will just lead to more ignorance. And of that we have enough, in both sides.

Peace Salam Shalom

A part time gansta just punk'd out -- chicken-shit

I never thought that a tough guy gansta rapper like you would pussy out under pressure and cancel your tour. Your "people" claim 'logistical problems as for the reason you cancelled your sold out show in Israel ... yet we all know that it was because of muslem threats warning you to do so. Look around you tough guy, you sell more discs in Israel than in all the muslem countries together ... yet you punk out.
You aint nothin but a mo-town sell out
